Yesterday me, Gary Doolan and Martin Klute were re-elected as Councillors for St Peter’s Ward. The full results are available on the Islington Council website. Labour held Islington Council, winning 47 out of the 48 seats available.

It was a fantastic result, with many more people voting Labour in St Peter’s than in the Mayoral election in 2012. We would like to thank everyone who helped, supported and voted for us. We sincerely appreciate it and could not have achieved this without all the wonderful people who spent time stuffing leaflets, delivering letters, knocking on doors and helping out on Election Day.

The Conservatives made St Peter’s their number 1 target ward for this election so we are particularly pleased with the result. We look forward to campaigning for a Labour government in 2015, as well as continuing to work hard for people in St Peter’s.

It feels absolutely amazing to represent such a fantastic, beautiful, dynamic, diverse ward in the greatest city in the world!
